How can I make VOB editable in Windows Movie Maker

I usually receive my stuff in a format that I can work in Windows Movie Maker perfectly, but when I got and import some VOB to Windows Movie Maker, the files can’t be recognized. What I want to do with the current project is take the VOB I have and convert it for editing with Windows Movie Maker.

After getting some reviews online and multiple testing, I got some clues. The main reason why you can not transfer VOB video files to Windows (Live) Movie Maker, is that WMM still can’t support VOB format. As far as I know, VOB is basically a MPEG-2 video file which is stored in Video_TS folder in a DVD. As this kind of video file usually contains one or several audio tracks and subtitle tracks that are multiplexed together into one stream form, it is not so easy to playback or edit. In order to open and edit VOB files in Windows Movie Maker smoothly, you need to convert .vob to Windows Movie Maker supported video formats like WMV, ASF, MPG (MPEG-1) and AVI (DV-AVI).

To get the work done, we can get some help from Brorosft Video Converter.
